It wasn't possible to make it available as an update to the old one because it's actually listed as a separate add-on in the Mozilla system. Re "The Bad": the toolbar has more capability beyond the buttons -- see <a href="http://del.icio.us/help/firefox/bookmarks/overview#toolbar" rel="nofollow">http://del.icio.us/help/firefox/bookmarks/overv...</a> .
